Akshardham Temple - World's Largest Comprehensive Hindu Temple- Swaminarayan Temple

Akshardham means the divine abode of God. It is an eternal place of devotion, purity and peace. It is constructed by Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) and created by His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj. This temple is built from intricately carved sandstone and marble.

Musical fountain: Knowen as Yagnapurush Kund is largest step well in India. It contains a very large series of steps down to a traditional 'yagna kund'.  The fountain is named after the founder of the Hindu organization BAPS, Shastriji Maharaj. It is 300 * 300 feet, 2870 steps and 108 small shrines.  

 

The temple contains an Abhisheka Mandap, Sahaj Anand water show and three exhibitions. These exhibitions called as Sahajanand Darshan (Hall of Values), Neelkanth Darshan (an IMAX film on the early life of Swaminarayan and Sanskruti Darshan (cultural boat ride).
