Akshardham Temple - World's Largest Comprehensive Hindu Temple- Swaminarayan Temple

Akshardham means the divine abode of God. It is an eternal place of devotion, purity and peace. Swaminarayan Akshardham temple is a Hindu house of worship and a spiritual & cultural complex dedicated to devotion, learning and harmony. This traditionally complex was inaugurated on 6 November 2005 with the blessings of His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj. Akshardham is got award of World's Largest Comprehensive Hindu Temple in the date of 17th December 2007.

It is constructed by Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) and created by His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj. This temple is built from intricately carved sandstone and marble.

Musical fountain: Knowen as Yagnapurush Kund is largest step well in India. It contains a very large series of steps down to a traditional 'yagna kund'.  The fountain is named after the founder of the Hindu organization BAPS, Shastriji Maharaj. It is 300 * 300 feet, 2870 steps and 108 small shrines.  
 

The temple contains an Abhisheka Mandap, Sahaj Anand water show and three exhibitions. These exhibitions called as Sahajanand Darshan (Hall of Values), Neelkanth Darshan (an IMAX film on the early life of Swaminarayan and Sanskruti Darshan (cultural boat ride).

Swaminarayan Akshardham temple is blessed with flora, fauna, musicians and deities. It is designed with the standards of Maharishi Vastu Architecture. This temple is made from Rajasthani pink sandstone and Italian Carrara marble. This temple contains 234 ornately carved pillars, nine domes and 20,000 murtis of devotees and acharyas.
